How Inthira Horology Came to Be
Inthira Horology opened its doors on Thanon Sukhumvit in Pattaya after its founder, Krit Inthira, spent more than a decade working with Swiss-trained watchmakers in Bangkok and later in the Vallée de Joux region of Switzerland. What he observed in both settings shaped his conviction: that fine watches, particularly older and collectible ones, often suffer most when they pass through workshops that prioritise throughput over considered handling.
The workshop was set up with a single premise — that each watch deserves the full attention of one skilled pair of hands, from assessment through to completion. No queue of waiting movements, no pressure to standardise what does not lend itself to standardisation.
Pattaya was chosen deliberately. It is a city where many watch owners live year-round, and where access to thoughtful, workshop-level horology had previously required a journey to Bangkok. Inthira Horology brought that access here.

Our purpose is straightforward: to extend the working life and preserve the lasting worth of fine timepieces, through work that is careful, honest, and well-documented. We do not pursue volume. We pursue quality.
For every owner who brings us a watch — whether a daily wearer needing a fresh service or a collector with a piece of significant history — our approach is the same. We begin by listening. We proceed by looking closely. We recommend only what is genuinely needed.

Head Watchmaker
Trained in Bangkok and the Vallée de Joux, Krit brings over fourteen years of hands-on experience with Swiss mechanical and vintage movements. He personally oversees all restoration and complex repair work.
Nattaya Sombat
Workshop Technician
Nattaya focuses on movement cleaning, parts preparation, and case work. Her attention to detail under the loupe is the quiet foundation of every completed service.
Araya Phuttarak
Client Liaison
Araya manages all client communication and documentation — ensuring that assessments are written clearly, questions are answered promptly, and owners are kept well informed throughout.
How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Magnified Assessment
Every movement is examined under 10× or greater magnification before any instrument touches it. What we observe is recorded before work begins.
Correct Lubricants Only
We use movement-specific lubricants sourced from established Swiss suppliers. The wrong oil in the wrong place shortens a movement's life — we do not cut corners here.
Timing Machine Verification
Rate performance is measured on a timing machine in multiple positions before and after adjustment. Owners receive the figures in their written summary.
Water Resistance Testing
Where applicable, water resistance is tested with calibrated equipment after case reassembly. Replaced seals are noted and logged in the service record.
Secure Handling & Storage
Each watch is logged on arrival with a condition photograph and stored in locked, climate-considered conditions during its time in the workshop.
Written Records
Every service produces a written record: what was found, what was done, which parts were used. For restorations, this documentation accompanies the watch on return.
Our Approach to Watchmaking
Craft, Continuity, and Respect for the Object
Fine horology is a field where experience compounds slowly. A watchmaker who has worked on a particular calibre through several examples begins to read its behaviour differently — the feel of the mainspring, the sound of the escapement, the way the balance settles at different temperatures. This kind of knowledge does not come from manuals alone.
At Inthira Horology, we work across Swiss mechanical movements ranging from the post-war era to contemporary production, with particular interest in the pocket-watch-to-wristwatch transition period and the classic automatic calibres of the 1960s and 1970s. We also work with high-end Japanese horology and selected contemporary mechanical watches from smaller manufacturers.
Our position in Pattaya reflects a practical reality: fine watch ownership in Thailand is not confined to Bangkok. The Eastern Seaboard has a substantial community of collectors and daily wearers — expatriates, returning Thais, and regional residents — who deserve access to thoughtful, unhurried service without a cross-country journey.
