Why Inthira Horology

What Makes
Careful Work Different

There are many places a watch can be left for a service. Not all of them treat each piece as an individual with its own history and requirements. Here is what distinguishes our approach.

Six Reasons to Bring Your Watch to Us

One Pair of Hands

Your watch is handled by a single watchmaker from assessment to return — not passed between multiple technicians.

Written Assessment First

Before any paid work begins, you receive a written assessment of your watch's condition and our recommendations.

Originality Respected

We use original or correctly matched parts and discuss the implications of any surface work with collectors before proceeding.

Measured Results

Timing machine results — before and after regulation — are included in your service documentation as a matter of course.

No Unnecessary Rush

We do not offer same-day turnarounds for complex work. Quality watchmaking takes the time it takes, and we are honest about that.

Locally Based in Pattaya

Workshop-level care without the journey to Bangkok — we are here on Sukhumvit for owners across the Chonburi region.

Expertise

Experience Shaped by Varied Work

Over fourteen years of practice across a range of mechanical calibres — from compact dress watches to large-rotor automatics, from mid-century Swiss pocket conversions to contemporary high-horology pieces — gives our watchmaker a reference that textbooks alone cannot provide.

Each calibre has its own character. A watchmaker who has serviced a movement several times develops a sense of what is within normal tolerance and what deserves closer attention. That sense is what owners of fine watches are really paying for.

  • Swiss mechanical and automatic calibres across major houses
  • Vintage movements from the 1940s through to 1990s production
  • Selected Japanese high-horology and high-complication pieces
  • Training background in Bangkok and Vallée de Joux, Switzerland

  • Certified timing machine for multi-position rate measurement
  • Calibrated water resistance testing equipment
  • Ultrasonic cleaning with appropriate solutions per component
  • Movement-specific lubricants sourced from Swiss suppliers

Tools & Methods

Workshop Equipment That Matches the Work

The instruments in our workshop are chosen to match the quality of the watches we accept. We do not use general electronics cleaning equipment on precision movements, or substitute generic lubricants for the specific oils a given calibre requires.

The difference between an adequate service and a genuinely careful one often comes down to what happens in the ten minutes no one is watching: whether the watchmaker takes time to clean the barrel arbor properly, or checks the amplitude after reassembly before closing the case.

Client Experience

Communication That Respects Your Time

We keep owners informed without overwhelming them. When a watch arrives, it is logged and acknowledged. When the assessment is complete, you receive a written summary. If anything unexpected is found during work, we stop and consult before proceeding.

Questions are welcome at any point. We are a small workshop and have the capacity to speak directly with the person who owns the watch — not route enquiries through a booking system.

  • Arrival acknowledgement and condition logging on same day
  • Written assessment before any chargeable work begins
  • Consultation if unexpected findings arise mid-service
  • Direct line to the watchmaker for questions during service

  • Transparent service pricing with three clear tiers
  • Written estimate required before any work over the base price
  • No hidden charges for documentation or packaging
  • Payment in Thai Baht with receipted invoice provided

Pricing & Value

Clear Pricing, No Surprises

Our three service levels have clearly published starting prices. Where a service is likely to exceed the base price — due to parts sourcing or additional work — we provide a written estimate and wait for your agreement before proceeding.

We are also clear about what we cannot help with: if a watch falls outside our scope, we will say so at the assessment stage rather than after work has begun.

What Sets Us Apart

Things We Do That Others Don't

Assessment With No Obligation

Our Inspection & Care service includes a full written assessment. If you decide not to proceed further, you leave with a clear picture of your watch's condition — at a modest, transparent fee.

Restoration Documentation

Every restoration is recorded in detail — what was overhauled, which components were replaced, what parts were sourced and from where. This record travels with the watch and forms part of its history.

Collector-Centred Judgement

For collectible and vintage pieces, we approach every decision with the watch's long-term value in mind. We will advise against over-polishing or non-original parts rather than take the path of least resistance.

Accessible in Pattaya

Fine watch service has historically required a Bangkok visit. We bring that level of care to Pattaya — for owners who value their time as much as their watches.
